SHAME AND DISGUST- workshop for professionals

This workshop will cover the topics of shame and disgust, and the questions:
*What is shame and what is its connection to disgust?

*Why look specifically at shame?

*How do we work with shame in therapy, and how do we face shame when it appears?

*How do we face our own shame issues as therapists?

The workshop will consist of a mixture of personal and group work, theory and discussion, and practice groups.

Participants need to be willing to face uncomfortable feelings raised by this topic.

Peter Philippson, M.Sc. (Gestalt Psychotherapy) is a UKCP Registered Gestalt psychotherapist and trainer, a Teaching and Supervising Member of the Gestalt Psychotherapy & Training Institute UK, a founder member of Manchester Gestalt Centre, Full Member of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy, Senior Trainer for GITA (Slovenia), faculty member, IpsiG (Turin), advisory board member, Center for Somatic Studies and a guest trainer for many training programmes internationally. He is Past President of the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy. Peter is the author of 'Self in Relation', pub. Gestalt Journal Press, ‘The Emergent Self’ pub. Karnac/UKCP and ‘Gestalt Therapy: Roots and Branches’ pub. Karnac, and many other chapters and articles. He is a teacher and student of traditional Aikido.

Friday and Saturday: 10:00 a.m till 6:00 p.m
Sunday: 10:00 a.m till 1:00 p.m

During the first and the second day there will be 2 h lunch break.

THE WORKSHOP IS DEDICATED TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE FINISHED AT LEAST 2ND YEAR OF BASIC PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING.
